W e are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Production Fitter to join this successful, expanding, established special purpose machinery manufacturer based in west Essex.

Your tasks will involve constructing special-purpose machines from scratch at the Harlow site and travelling overseas to install the finished products at client locations.

This role is perfect for candidates who enjoy travelling overseas.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in mechanical engineering and a hands-on approach to building large complex equipment from the ground up and be a highly skilled and organised individual with a flexible work style, able to adapt to various tasks from assembly to on-site installations overseas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake mechanical production build of large complex equipment from scratch according to engineering drawings and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Installation, commissioning, and testing of complex mechanical systems.
  • Travelling overseas to customer sites.
  • Utilise technical skills for tasks such as marking out, drilling, tapping, cutting, and more.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience reading and working to complex engineering drawings and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Significant experience of mechanical production build experience.
  • Experience and appreciation of squaring and levelling machines.
  • Recognised time-served apprenticeship / post-school vocational qualification in a mechanical-related field (e.g., C&G / BTEC).
  • Good communication and written skills.
  • Physically fit and able to provide own tools in line with job requirements.
  • Flexible to work overtime and travel overseas as required.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.

This position is based in Harlow, Essex and commutable from Cambridge, Stevenage, Colchester, Romford, Chelmsford, Braintree, north London or St Albans.
