About the role
We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our small team, in a key role. Are you passionate about customer service and business transformation, with good business support experience? If so, you are just the kind of person we need to join the team!
We are the Early Education and Childcare Team who provide and are responsible for the administering and monitoring the early entitlements and SEND funding to Early Years sector, which include full day care nurseries, preschool, childminders, Primary schools with nursery classes and Maintained Nursery schools. We aim to deliver efficient and accurate financial services, to support providers to deliver early years services and contribute to improving outcomes for children and families.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Children and Adults Barred List check. West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
About you
Applicants will need previous experience of office administration and be comfortable working in an open plan environment as well as working remotely. This is a fast-paced, varied role which will suit someone who can work under pressure, meet deadlines, is friendly reliable and flexible.
We are looking for someone who has great organisational skills and has the ability to use their own initiative. Excellent communication skills are essential.
You will need:
- Experience of helping to deliver a complex financial or business process
- Great customer service skills – we provide a point of contact for service users dealing with funding and process enquiries and queries.
- Excellent IT skills, in particular using Excel and accurate data input skills.
- A real ‘eye for detail’, and to be methodical and accurate.
- To be a great team player who is flexible and enjoys tackling a wide variety of different tasks in an interesting but changeable and fast paced environment.
