About the Role:

The Lanes Group are looking to appoint an experienced Depot Manager, leading our Aberdeen Depot. Successful applicants will have a strong commercial understanding and experience of managing profit and loss (P&L). In addition the depot manager is also responsible for leading the operational teams to consistently deliver a safe and reliable service to our domestic and commercial customers.

Location: Aberdeen

Salary: OTE £60,000 (inclusive of potential bonus earnings)

Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Responsibilities – but not limited to:

  • Ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of works conducted by operational staff.
  • Working closely with the sales staff to ensure the depot is successfully delivering work to meet the depot targets.
  • Ensuring compliance of the depot across all key functions – Health and Safety, Transport, HR and customer satisfaction
  • Staff Management – Ensuring all staff are following the correct health and safety procedures, work is being carried out in line with the company standards, wage and holiday approval, Performance management, absence and return to work reporting.
  • Effectively reviewing the P&L, future forecasting, month end consolidation, debt reporting.
  • Ensuring daily/weekly communications with appropriate teams ( i.E HR, Health and Safety, finance)

Experience and qualifications required for the role:

  • Proven experience in people management and a good track record of managing over 20 employees.
  • Past experience and strong understanding of drainage / construction background
  • Be able to demonstrate commercial knowledge along with the ability to manage profits and identify efficiencies and push operational teams to achieve targets.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety standards within the workplace.
  • Experience within a drainage industry or similar would be advantageous.
  • Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of P&L and forecasting, reporting on and managing debt.
  • Proven track record of working to and achieve company set targets.
