Do you have a keen eye for detail and a knack for quick problem-solving? A prestigious university in the heart of Oxford is seeking a Maintenance Electrical Assistant to join their dedicated maintenance team. In this role, the successful candidate will ensure the seamless operation of the university's electrical and mechanical systems, providing rapid response to any issues that arise
Key Responsibilities:

Provide rapid response service for electrical problems and breakdowns.

Carry out routine plant, infrastructure, and fabric checks, monitoring the College's BMS.

Identify and source materials needed for maintenance tasks, using College vehicle when necessary.

Ensure safe storage and proper recording of chemicals as per COSHH assessments.

Participate in water monitoring regimes, including legionella inspections and checks.

Maintain accurate records using PDAs or Tablets.

Perform electrical fault-finding and rectification, updating records, and completing statutory documents.

Conduct testing and inspections according to the planned maintenance schedule.

Report any concerns or future maintenance requirements to your line Manager/Supervisor.

Assist with general maintenance tasks, small works, and refurbishment projects.

Update electrical schematic and layout drawings, ensuring new installations are properly recorded.

Ensure correct use and maintenance of College equipment, reporting any calibration issues or damage.

Adhere to the College's Health and Safety Policy and wear Personal Protective Equipment as required.

Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.

Communicate effectively with staff using the College radio and carry out tasks with minimal disruption.

Adopt a flexible approach to duties and responsibilities, undergoing further training as needed.

Participate in the on-call rota and attend call outs as required.
