Senior Performance Engineer β Formula E

Job Description:
As a Senior Performance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in extracting maximum performance from the race car through data-driven analysis, simulation tools, and close collaboration with drivers, engineers, and other departments.
You will lead performance development efforts across simulation, race strategy, energy management, and vehicle dynamics. This position demands strong technical expertise, experience in high-level motorsport, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
- Promote teamwork and effective communications across the performance engineers, including splitting tasks before and after the sessions and optimizing communication and operation between the remote room and the team at the track
- Manage Analysis priorities and reporting to be able to deliver complete reports that can be delivered to the race drivers.
- Collaborate with the Race Engineer and Race Driver to ensure maximum car performance
- Calibrate vehicle dynamics/performance-related on-car software systems
- Race cars systems set up and performance optimization based on vehicle dynamics experience.
- Identify, calculate and monitor key performance indicators
- Provide detailed and concise technical reports on vehicle performance
- Suggest car setup options and tyre strategy based on simulation and track data analysis
- Suggest future vehicle development directions based on data analysis
- Develop, maintain and run our performance software tools
- Validate simulation and simulator models against track and test data
- State of the art simulators development and continuous correlation work.
Profile:
- Masterβs degree in motorsport, mechanical, automotive related engineering discipline
- Excellent knowledge of vehicle dynamic, tyres, control system
- Proficient with data analysis, previous experience of Wintax an advantage
- Knowledge of analysis software and Matlab
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, Fluent in English
- Good understanding of lap time simulation tools and simulator environments
