We are seeking a Senior Trader to oversee a trading book, manage risk, and contribute to the growth of our trading franchise. This is a high-impact role where your expertise and leadership will be essential for driving revenue generation and building strong client relationships.
Team/Role Overview:
Our Base Metals Trading team plays a crucial role in Citi's global markets business. As a Senior Trader, you will be responsible for managing a trading book, developing and executing trading strategies, and collaborating with sales and structuring to expand our franchise. You will work closely with other traders, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure the success of our trading operations.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee a trading book, generate revenue, and manage risk effectively.
- Collaborate with sales and structuring to build and maintain a strong client franchise.
- Establish and cultivate key client relationships to expand business opportunities.
- Anticipate client demand and facilitate large trades in the Base Metals market.
- Coordinate with desk analysts and sales to develop the franchise further.
- Mentor and guide junior traders, fostering their professional development.
- Maintain strong governance and controls, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Partner closely with control functions (Legal, Compliance, Market & Credit Risk, Audit, Finance) to ensure robust governance and control infrastructure.
- Promote a culture of responsible finance, ethical conduct, and expense discipline.
- Assess risk/reward effectively in business decisions, prioritizing the firm's reputation.
- Adhere to Citi's Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services.
- Maintain all required registrations/licenses within the specified timeframe.
- Demonstrate sound ethical judgment and escalate control issues transparently.
