Up to £25.00 per hour, dependent on experience

As a Plaster Technician, you will:

Provide an expert casting and splinting service

Maintain a high standard of patient care and be able to recognise potential complications and health care issues and report to the relevant person

Recognise legal implications of documentation and complete, accurate legible records

Provide wound care appropriate to the patients’ needs and record this in line with department documentation standards

Plan and organise straightforward activities, plans and prioritises own workload

Adhere to Health & Safety regulations, use appropriate personal protective equipment and advice others as appropriate. Take action to assess the management of risk and reduce where possible. Report using Trust incident reporting procedures

Be flexible within the department and have knowledge of the different clinic sessions

Educate patients and significant others on problems associated with living with a cast/splint

Provide patients and carers with advice relating to orthopaedic conditions and associated health care issues
