Alfanar Energy UK & our subsidiary Lighthouse Green Fuels are developing the largest Advanced Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project in Europe, utilising first-of-it's-kind technology and attracting a £1.5billion investment package. We're currently seeking an experienced individual to join us on a staff basis in London as a Senior Environmental Engineer. This key role will work directly with the Project Development Manager to support the delivery of the DCO from scoping through pre-application, examination to SoS decision and further. It will also have responsibility for supporting the engineering team on environmental issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of Environmental consultants to develop Environmental documentation
  • Coordinating with internal and external technical specialist environmental teams to provide sufficient evidence, draft and review DCO documents to support the project.
  • Ensure environmental compliance as part of the application process.
  • Maintain oversight of agreements, criteria, and conditions outlined in the Development Consent Order (DCO), and collaborated with stakeholders, individual packages, and the Consent team to ensure technical compliance.
  • Support the Land Strategy Team in the Land Acquisition process.
  • Review Engineering Contractor/Supplier documentation
  • Interface between engineering Disciplines and DCO Consultants
  • Produce progress reports and lead progress meetings with contractors and internal team.
  • Maintain and update the risk register, DCO consent register and other required trackers.
  • Review progress and cost reports from DCO consultants

Who we're seeking:

  • 8-10 years+ experience, including experience on complex, large-scale energy or infrastructure projects
  • Experience with development of EIA documentation
  • Some knowledge of the DCO process for complex energy projects
  • Knowledge of environmental elements of DCO process
  • Strong communication & stakeholder engagement skillset
