Job Description

Introduction to the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Trade Marketing Assistant to join the Group Sales team, working across all divisions at HarperCollins UK. The role sits within the Trade Marketing team, and the successful candidate will work across both UK and international markets. This is an exciting entry level opportunity for someone who is passionate about high street bookshops and interested in driving HarperCollins communications and relationships with booksellers worldwide.

Key tasks and accountabilities

+ Curating trade-facing newsletters and communications

+ Running trade-facing social media accounts

+ Updating the IndieThinking and HarperReach websites

+ Managing trade-facing inboxes, responding to customer queries

+ Managing and co-ordinating mailings to booksellers

+ Updating and maintaining retailer grids

+ Ordering proofs and sample copies

+ Building relationships with retailers (e.g. Waterstones and independent booksellers)

+ Assisting the Trade Marketing team with trade events

+ Assisting the Trade Marketing teams with day-to-day tasks

Skills required

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines

+ Strong relationship building skills

+ Collaborative team player

+ Skills in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)

+ Driven and proactive, with a willingness to learn

+ A passion for books and reading

+ Prior experience in the publishing industry is not required
