At Lidl GB, weâre proud of the reputation weâve built, and weâre looking for an experienced and highly organised Corporate Communications Manager to join our vibrant and growing Corporate Affairs department to help us further protect and enhance it.
As someone who thrives within a dynamic and extremely fast-paced environment, youâll play a critical role within our corporate communications team, leading our reactive press office, managing issues and crisis communication and overseeing the management of our corporate LinkedIn presence, whilst helping to define and deliver our reputation strategy.
This role is for a candidate that has a passion for problem solving and project management, with a holistic mindset and strong instincts. You\’ll be able to react quickly and calmly to changing scenarios daily, whilst working closely with senior stakeholders across the business to help develop and deliver strategic recommendations. As a self-starter with an already proven background in corporate communications working on a plethora of diverse topics and issues, and a clear understanding of the food retail sector, you will be able to hit the ground running.

What you\’ll do
- Provide day-to-day management of Lidl GBâs reactive press office, ensuring timely, accurate and effective responses to media enquiries.
- Develop and implement issues and crisis communications strategies, acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the business.
- Monitor, identify and respond to emerging reputational risks, working closely and collaboratively with relevant key stakeholders.
- Oversee the management and shaping of Lidl GBâs corporate LinkedIn channels and corporate digital presence, ensuring the delivery of consistent, credible and compelling communications that reflects Lidlâs values and ambitions.
- Build and maintain strong and instrumental relationships with key media and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with the corporate communications manager and Senior Officer for projects and events to support the delivery of corporate campaigns and announcements, ensuring risk mitigation.
- Support with the delivery of media training and briefings for senior stakeholders to ensure full preparedness.
- Manage corporate awards program, working with teams across the business to develop compelling and award-winning entries.
- Work closely with trade associations to keep abreast of sector-wide topics and issues, feeding opportunities and intelligence back into the business.
- Manage monitoring, reporting and reputation performance measurement, overseeing services and systems.
- Support with day-to-day task management of Corporate Communications Assistant and Senior Digital
What you\’ll need
- Strong experience working in corporate communications, ideally inhouse or at a corporate communications agency with a love of working in a fast-paced environment.
- A substantial understanding and knowledge of the food retail sector and the role of Lidl within it.
- Proven experience running a busy press office for a retailer or major brand, with confidence handling challenging or high-risk media enquiries.
- In-depth understanding of the UK media landscape and the strategic role of LinkedIn in shaping corporate reputation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and craft nuanced, high-impact messaging.
- Experience in issues and crisis communication management, with strong judgement and a confident and calm approach to managing high-pressure situations.
- A critical thinking mindset and acute attention to detail with strong quality awareness.
- Self-starter attitude with proven experience delivering projects and processes, and the personal drive and initiative to see these through to success.
- Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative, credible and persuasive approach.
- Experience using monitoring and analytics tools to track and evaluate reputational performance (experience with RepTrak is desirable although not essential).
- Experience managing and developing high-performing team members preferable.
