Microsoft Purview Consultant

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Hybrid with occasional travel to client sites and the Cambridge Office at CB22 3GN.

Hours of work: Full time 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday.

Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 dependent on experience.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Purview Consultant to conduct workshops with new and existing clients and to design and deliver Purview centric projects.

The role will involve leveraging your experience within the realms of Data Governance, Security and Compliance to help organisations discover, protect and manage data throughout their estate.

You will work in the project delivery team and collaborate with our pre‑sales consultants in designing Purview solutions.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of Purview and adjacent Microsoft services and a keen focus on delivering solutions that maximise clients’ investment in Microsoft Purview and associated Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to a growing area of the company and become an integral member of the Softwerx Professional Services team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre‑defined Microsoft envisioning workshops.
  • Design and implement Purview solutions.
  • Drive the awareness and adoption of Purview for new and existing clients.
  • Work with client stakeholders and compliance teams to align Purview technical capabilities with business policies and industry requirements.
  • Produce and maintain high quality technical project documentation.
  • Provide support and guidance to clients.

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • Microsoft SC-400 / SC-401 certification.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands on experience with Microsoft Purview including:
    • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
    • Information Protection (IP)
    • Data Security Posture Management for AI (DSPM for AI)
    • Insider Risk Management (IRM)
    • Privileged Access Management
    • Adaptive Protection
    • Compliance Manager
    • Communication Compliance
    • eDiscovery and Audit
    • Data Lifecycle Management (DLM)
    • Records Management
    • Data Map
    • Unified Catalog
  • Interacting directly with clients in workshop environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly effective at working autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

  • Industry certification beyond Microsoft (ISC2 etc)
