Responsibilities
Your future team
Atlassian is seeking a driven and seasoned Technical Revenue Accounting Manager to join our Enterprise Revenue Accounting Team. In this role, you will interface with the Enterprise sales team and provide technical accounting (ASC 606) and finance process expertise to continuously help the business scale and achieve sales objectives. You will be responsible for contract review and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policy, achieve cross functional alignment with key business stakeholders on revenue accounting impacts, identify and implement continuous process improvement over the order to cash process pertaining to enterprise sales.
You’re a great fit for this role if you have strong understanding of revenue accounting policies, particularly ASC 606. You are solution oriented, have strong business acumen, and can simplify complex problems in your communication (both oral and written). This role reports to our Director of Revenue- Enterprise Sales who is invested in the continued development of the team and your career.
What You\’ll Do

  • Manage the review and approval of on premise and cloud growth agreements, ensuring appropriate recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and other applicable standards
  • Provide support and guidance to Sales, Legal, and Order Management teams on deal structure and contractual terms for revenue compliance and optimization
  • Review business growth recognition documentation for executed agreements in the EMEA region, ensuring accurate assessment of non-standard technical accounting terms and computation of accounting adjustments needed
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors regarding revenue accounting matters, providing necessary documentation and explanations
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements to revenue accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy

More About You

  • 5+ years of revenue experience with 3 years minimally in a technical accounting role, ideally with experience with Public Companies
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and primarily revenue recognition standards (ASC 606)
  • Proficient in using large scale ERP systems (Oracle Fusion a plus), and Revpro
  • Demonstrated experience thinking strategically about issues, leading to recommendations and action plans
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels at the company
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting. CPA or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Experience with a Big-4 accounting firm is strongly preferred
