Quarto creates inspiring books for adults and children published across the globe. As a Foreign Rights Assistant/ Executive, you will be a key player in helping maximise foreign rights sales and co-editions.

Working hours
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We currently operate a discretionary hybrid model; as part of your role, you will work four days in our London office and one day working from home.
About the roles
You will be providing support to the sales staff, maintaining trading tools, and helping the team to maximise sales opportunities for our kids book portfolios. There will be opportunity for more experienced candidates to transition into a sales support role.
This role requires fluency in German.
What you will be involved in
- Liaising with editorial departments to keep the rights team updated with the latest material and information
- Maintaining and updating book stocks and databases
- Creating marketing tools
- Assisting with the preparation of internal and customer meetings
- Assisting at the book fairs
- Providing support to Foreign Rights Manager including:
- Preparing material for meetings and arranging post-meeting follow-up send-outs
- Logging information in databases
- Tracking of contracts and invoices
- Organisation, chasing and co-ordination of reprints
- Research into new customers and sales channels
About you
You will have good attention to detail and be comfortable learning to use new tools and databases. You will need to be adept at multi-tasking and prioritising your deadlines. You will enjoy a fast-paced environment and have the flexibility to adapt to change.
This role can be suited to an assistant with experience in foreign rights, looking to transition into an executive role. You will have excellent communication skills, and an appetite to grow commercially.
You will be able to show you can:
- Process and record large amounts of data and material accurately
- Demonstrate outstanding numeracy and negotiation skills
- Manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with internal colleagues
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and maintain and build superb customer relationships
- Use Microsoft Office at an advanced level
- Provide excellent service to both customers and the team
