Executive Director – Pure Search, Tax & Treasury
Tax Specialist
We are recruiting for a global, independently owned shipping company, managing a diverse fleet and international joint ventures. This key role, reporting to the CFO, focuses on global tax structuring, compliance, and planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with external advisers on group tax planning, joint venture ( M&A Activity), and investments
- Oversee corporate and tonnage tax compliance and international tax projects
- Prepare tax models, internal memos, and decision-support materials
- Monitor transfer pricing and intercompany transactions
- Coordinate tax return preparation and ensure timely filings
- Collaborate with internal teams to align finance systems with tax needs
Ideal Experience and Qualifications
- Corporate tax experience (accounting practice and/or in-house)
- Experience in Shipping / Commodities Trading or Oil & Gas environments, or working with these clients.
- Strong grasp of international and domestic tax frameworks
- Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills
- Ability to lead audits and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Excel, tax software, and Microsoft Office tools
This opportunity will suit a Senior Manager looking to move into a more independent role, where you can look to set the tax agenda for the firm. Candidates must be comfortable taking positions on what is deemed commercially acceptable tax risk for the business.
