Our Building Services Division provides our customers with in-house teams of experts delivering comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering FM services, including delivering capital works and lifecycle renewal projects.

This role will see you join a talented and dedicated team delivering Hard Facilities Management Services all within the highly secure environment of the Ministry of Defence’s main headquarters in London.

We are recruiting for a Project Manager to manage and deliver contract variations, change and capital works projects from inception to completion including income generation work to time and budget achieving the quality required. To collaboratively work with Stakeholders as part of an Integrated Team including adherence and compliance with both Skanska and the clients systems of work.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage Variations and Change, Capital Project work including design management, temporary works, estimating, arrange for the ordering of materials and plant, resource planning and implementation of direct labour or contract labour.
  • Lead the project, facilitating requirement, design review, prestart, progress and handover meetings.
  • Working with the Contract and Commercial team to ensure all quotations are completed and returned within the Project related KPI and Performance Management System time scales.
  • Responsible for the checking of the built works to ensure defect free and management of any remedial works required. Once all works are satisfactorily completed sign off the works and review and authorise any subcontractor application for payment.
  • To act as Principal Contractor and/or Principal Designer in accordance with the CDM regulations 2015 when authorised to by the Head of CDM.
  • Ensure that appropriate project information is requested, received, captured, managed and stored to ensure statutory and contractual operations are met. Including H&S files, O&M manuals and Drawings in AutoCAD format. Etc.

What you\’ll bring to the role:

  • Technically qualified to minimum of HNC (Building/Mechanical/Electrical) or relevant Degree plus 10 years’ experience in the management of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • H&S qualification e.g. IOSH H&S Managing Safely certification or SMSTS certificate.
  • CSCS card or equivalent.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of several software packages including Microsoft Office suite consisting of, AutoCad 2013, Access, MS Project, Visio and experienced in use of MIS systems and Asset Data base systems.
  • Responsible for the electronic management / storage of all lifecycle / small works projects documentation, including the upkeep of the tracking systems to ensure works are invoiced in a timely manner and ensure costs are recovered.
  • Proven experience of leadership and management of a diverse range of supply chain contractors providing direction and support to ensure successful delivery of projects on time and budget.
  • Robust, measurable knowledge of CDM regulations is a mandate, including fulfilment of Principal Contractor roles and the desire to successfully deliver the proposals for the new legislation

This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role .
