Team – Continuous Improvement
Working Pattern – Hybrid – 2 days per week in any of the Vitality offices (Bournemouth, London or Stockport). Full time hours. This is a 9 month Fixed Term Contract.

What this role is all about:
Vitality Continuous Improvement Leads are accredited Lean Six Sigma Black Belts. Black Belts are experts in statistical analysis, leaders, mentors, and strategic advisors.
Responsible for working closely with Product Delivery Executives, Heads of Portfolio and Product teams to consult, direct and advise on opportunities within their Product Delivery Streams. They will do this by a few methods, either by reacting to issues, problems or assumptions that have arisen within the journey (e.g. an OKR is underachieving) or by proactively using the data and resources available to identify opportunities.
Key Actions
IDENTIFICATION & VALIDATION OF OPPORTUNITIES AND PROBLEMS | Outputs: Epics (Project Briefs) & analysis that contributes to Epics (Project Briefs).
- Statistical root cause analysis to validate what could unlock a potential opportunity or driving a problem.
- Feed these identified and validated items into the Product Delivery Streams & operational leadership team as draft Epics to be considered for prioritisation. Help to support getting Epics into the funnel and change delivered.
PROCESS DESIGN & OPTIMISATION | Outputs: Business process maps, customer journey maps, gap analysis and process documentation
- Analyse and streamline processes to enhance efficiency, reliability and reduce waste.
- Proactively design efficient processes as we introduce change to ensure expected outcomes are achieved.
ADOPTION & PERFORMANCE MONITORING | Outputs: Control charts, reporting and Failure, Modes, Effects, Analysis (FMEA’s).
- Identify and implement robust controls as we introduce change to monitor performance and ensure adoption targets and expected outcomes are met.
TRAINING & MENTORSHIP | Outputs: Bespoke training material and training delivery
- Train business on CI methodologies and tools.
- Embed CI culture and lean thinking throughout the business.
OPERATIONAL CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT OWNERSHIP | Outputs: Project Charter
- Guide initiatives (using DMAIC framework) originating from within operational areas to drive long-term business success.
What do you need to thrive?
- Certified Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Black Belt – demonstrated the use to LSS skills and tools.
- Extensive experience of conducting hypothesis testing using statistical analysis software.
- Minimum of 5 years in a continuous improvement environment.
- Excellent communication, coaching and feedback skills.
