We encourage students to take the opportunity to engage in activities outside their studies and the role of the Student Engagement Officer (SEO) plays a key part in encouraging students to maintain a healthy work-life balance as well as supporting students with the transitions into and out of university.

You will be responsible for planning and coordination of resources and activities that support and enhance student engagement across the College, from pre-arrival through to graduation and beyond, by helping to deliver a service that makes a positive and measurable contribution to the overall experience of students at Trinity.

The role supports the Head of the College’s Academic, Personal and Professional Development programme in identifying and organising activities that support collaborative study and peer-led learning.You will be working for one day per week in the Alumni Relations and Development Office (ARDO) implementing alumni-led initiatives, and also working with voluntary organisations to promote volunteering opportunities for students.

You will co-ordinate and maintain material for online platforms, including the Student Hub and the Freshers’ website, as well as student-focused communications.As well as creating and editing website content on a routine basis, this involves liaising with students, staff and external organisations to curate ideas, information and resources to ensure that content is kept fresh, relevant and up to date.You will help organise various events, from feasts to student-led/designed initiatives.

You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and will need to show us that you:

  • are enthusiastic to support and enhance the experience of students;
  • have experience of organising events involving students, academics or alumni and/or developing or assisting wellbeing events for students;
  • have excellent interpersonal and presentational skills as you must be able to build good working relationships and communicate with tact and discretion with a wide variety of groups and individuals;
  • have up-to-date IT skills, in particular, using social media;
  • have good and accurate written, verbal and numerical skills to be able to analyse data and write reports.

We can offer a salary of ÂŁ31,983 per annum and excellent benefits which include a free lunch, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, membership of an on-site gym and use of College punts at a subsidised rate.

The role is based in central Cambridge.Remote working will not be offered for this role.
