CDM Principal Designer Reading (Hybrid) Β£40,000 – Β£50,000 A respected multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal Designer to support the continued growth of its Health & Safety/CDM services in Reading. You\’ll work on a range of projects across sectors, including housing, education, and commercial, offering the chance to manage multiple schemes and contribute to improving design safety across the project lifecycle. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of the CDM 2015 Regulations, design risk management, and construction methodologies to take ownership of Principal Designer duties while working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. Key Responsibilities Advise clients of their statutory duties under CDM 2015 Fulfil Principal Designer duties across a variety of live projects Coordinate with designers to compile Design Risk Management schedules Lead H&S design reviews at all project stages Manage and collate pre-construction information, addressing any gaps Promote clear communication between duty holders around H&S coordination Prepare Health & Safety Files upon project completion Support internal designers and project managers with specialist CDM guidance Candidate Requirements Degree (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline 3+ years of post-qualification experience Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 and associated best practices Membership of a relevant body (e.g., APS, IOSH, or working towards) Experience in delivering multi-disciplinary construction projects Effective communication skills and stakeholder coordination Sound understanding of construction techniques and H&S legislation If you\’re interested in finding out more about this opportunity, please contact Dan McIntosh on (phone number removed), via WhatsApp on (phone number removed), or email your up-to-date CV
