Overview The Client Innovation Centre (CIC) is an innovative and exciting part of IBM. A fast‐paced and dynamic business built to deliver high‐value technical services to world renowned clients. All of our employees work in a consultancy environment on a variety of exciting projects across a range of sectors. Every project has its own unique working environment – this enables our employees to build their experience, skillset and network. As an Application Developer, you will lead IBM into the future by translating system requirements into the design and development of customised systems in an agile environment. Your work will power IBM and its clients globally, collaborating and integrating code into enterprise systems.
Responsibilities Help to design, build and run the complex hybrid infrastructure platforms that underpin the critical application stacks which our clients depend on to manage and grow their business.
Use programming concepts and at least one scripting language (such as Shell, Python, or Ansible) to support automation and troubleshooting.
Work with architecture components to fix simple issues and configure environments such as adding memory, configuring backups, managing networks, setting up cloud accounts, and installing applications.
Learn and help create infrastructure automation playbooks using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
Support OS and application‐layer patching by collaborating with administrators, database teams, and network teams.
Contribute to installation, environment provisioning, configuration, systems management, backup, and recovery tasks.
Gain hands‐on experience across infrastructure layers including OS, network, storage, virtualization, and cloud services.

Technical Experience Exposure to scripting or programming (Shell, Python, Ansible, or similar).
Understanding of infrastructure fundamentals: operating systems, networks, storage, virtualization.
Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and major providers (AWS, Azure, IBM, Google, Alibaba, Oracle, Red Hat).
Awareness of AI and Data Science basics, ethics, and methodologies.
Operational understanding of operating systems, system diagnostics, remote support, and application infrastructure.
Ability to use data and logic to approach complex tasks and technical issues.
