Director – Ruby Specialist at KE Technology
Senior/Staff Ruby on Rails Developer – Remote (UK-Based) – Up to £110K
Are you an experienced Ruby on Rails developer who thrives in fast-moving, engineering-led environments? We’re working on large-scale, high-traffic systems and looking for someone who can architect, optimise, and scale backend infrastructure – while writing clean, maintainable code.
You’ll join a product-focused team that values best practices, autonomy, and thoughtful design. The platform is evolving quickly to meet growing demand, and there’s real opportunity to shape technical decisions and contribute beyond the code.
What We Offer:
- Up to £110,000 + shares
- Fully remote within the UK (London HQ)

Key Responsibilities:
- Architecting and optimising scalable backend systems in Ruby on Rails
- Designing and maintaining clean, efficient APIs and integrations
- Improving performance and database efficiency at scale
- Contributing to long-term technical decisions and platform direction
- Collaborating closely with product, DevOps, and other engineers
What We’re Looking For:
- 6+ years of Ruby on Rails experience in production
- Strong grasp of system architecture, performance, and scalability
- Experienced in designing & maintaining APIs
- Comfortable with CI/CD, Docker, and cloud services (AWS preferred)
- Comfortable owning features end-to-end and contributing to direction
