Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, manage, and mentor junior building surveyors, offering technical guidance and professional support. Support recruitment, onboarding, and team development initiatives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across the team.Project Management & Delivery Oversee a wide range of building surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget. Conduct and supervise inspections, surveys, assessments, and technical reports across residential, commercial, and public sector buildings. Advise clients on compliance, maintenance, refurbishments, and repairs with clear and practical recommendations. Maintain high standards of quality assurance throughout all phases of project delivery.Client Relationship Management & Business Development Act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for key clients. Develop strong client relationships, understanding their business needs and providing tailored surveying solutions. Prepare and present proposals, bids, and fee estimates for new instructions. Support business development efforts, identifying and converting new opportunities to grow revenue.Technical Expertise & Consultancy Deliver expert advice on building condition surveys, dilapidation reports, party wall matters, and health & safety compliance. Lead complex building inspections, diagnose defects, and provide strategic remediation advice. Ensure technical documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned with current standards and regulations. Stay informed of changes in legislation and best practice, sharing insights with the team and clients.Risk Management & Compliance Ensure all activities are compliant with relevant legislation, building regulations, and health & safety standards. Identify project risks early and advise clients on mitigation strategies. Maintain accurate project documentation and audit trails to ensure regulatory compliance.Financial Oversight & Reporting Oversee budgeting, cost planning, and financial performance for surveying projects. Monitor project profitability and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
