Production Manager
Lisburn
£45k – £50k
Vickerstock is partnering a reputable Manufacturing firm to recruit a Production Manager one of their sites based in Lisburn.
The role entails planning, organising, developing, directing, and overseeing the activities of the production team to achieve both short- and long-term goals and objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with the team in all areas to ensure the safety, profitability, and overall success of the Production Team.
Your key responsibilities as a Production Manager;
- Lead your team and department to ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and initiatives.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills to manage a team of production supervisors/team leaders while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Oversee the production process, ensuring that production and quality targets are achieved.
- Ensure the delivery of defect-free, customer-ready products to both internal and external customers.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance productivity and cost efficiency.
- Manage team performance by setting and monitoring annual SMART goals in line with the High-Performance framework.
- Take overall responsibility for equipment maintenance and training within your area.
- Strategically plan workforce levels, production costs, and expenditure to remain within budget and targets.
- Identify capital expenditure (CAPEX) requirements to support organisational strategies and maintain operational capabilities.
- Work closely with the leadership team to drive operational improvements, order fulfilment, quality control, and logistics.
- Evaluate and act promptly on internal and external quality feedback from key department managers.
- Develop, review, and manage production and distribution budgets to meet financial objectives.
- Train, mentor, and support direct reports in recruitment, staff development, disciplinary procedures, and HR policies.
As a Production Manager, ideally you will have;
- Educated to a degree level in an engineering or business-related discipline and/or a minimum of three years' experience managing a team, preferably in a heavy engineering environment, or five years in a supervisory role within a manufacturing setting.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing management within a lean, heavy equipment manufacturing environment.
