The Head of Operational Resilience and Recovery is responsible for leading the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our UK Personal Investor (UKPI) operational resilience. This includes oversight of business continuity planning, crisis and incident management, and ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations. The role will drive a culture of preparedness, ensuring that our retail business can prevent, respond to, recover from, and learn from operational disruptions.
Operational Resilience:
- Define and lead the UK Personal Investor operational resilience programme aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Lead the review and mapping of Important Business Services (IBS) and associated impact tolerances.
- Ensure robust scenario testing, lessons learned, and remediation planning.
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership and the Board on resilience progress and key risk indicators (KRIs).
- Collaborate with senior leaders across Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Client Experience to mitigate vulnerabilities, and embed resilience into business planning.
- Engage with regulators and industry forums to maintain awareness of regulatory developments and ensure a forward-looking resilience agenda.
Business Continuity Management:
- Regularly review, audit, and update business continuity plans in collaboration with fellow UKPI business functions, to reflect evolving risks and organisational changes.
- Identify and assess potential disruption scenarios, quantify impacts, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and report on business continuity readiness, compliance, and exercise outcomes to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Define and guide operating strategies to ensure continuity of critical services within agreed recovery time objectives.
Crisis and Incident Management:
- Serve as the senior escalation point for major UKPI incidents and crises, ensuring effective governance and communication and coordination of response and recovery efforts.
- Lead the incident management process, including response coordination, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
- Maintain and test incident response and crisis management plans.
Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of resilience and incident management professionals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
