BGC Group is seeking an experienced compliance leader to head our Trade Surveillance function. Based in London, this senior role will set the strategic direction and ensure the effective delivery of surveillance operations across our global trading businesses. You will lead a high-performing team, engage with senior stakeholders and regulators, and drive continuous improvement in our surveillance systems and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the global trade surveillance strategy.
- Oversee day-to-day surveillance operations, alerts, escalations, and investigations.
- Lead the design and enhancement of surveillance frameworks and systems.
- Make informed decisions on STOR submissions and regulatory interactions.
- Deliver MI and governance reporting to senior leadership and committees.
- Represent the function in regulatory audits and internal governance forums.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in trade surveillance or related compliance roles within financial services.
- Strong leadership and team management background.
- Proficiency with surveillance platforms (e.g., SMARTS, Actimize, Scila).
- In-depth knowledge of trading practices and market abuse regulations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and decision-making skills.
- Advanced data analytics or automation experience.
- Exposure to trading systems and MI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView).
- Familiarity with UK regulatory frameworks and FCA expectations.
