We currently have an opportunity for a strategic leader to join Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) asHead of Quality Assurance.

This is a pivotal senior role within the RLAM Technology team, responsible for shaping and driving a high-performing Quality Assurance (QA) function.

As a senior leader, you will define and champion a robust testing strategy that ensures confidence, control, and continuous improvement across all RLAM business applications. You will lead a team through transformation, embedding a culture of quality, innovation, and accountability.

About the role

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and own the overarching test strategy for RLAM, aligning quality assurance with business goals and regulatory expectations.
  • Governance & Risk: Establish test approaches that balance agility with control, ensuring compliance with audit, risk, and quality standards.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead the evolution of our testing framework to support both Agile and strategic project delivery—across in-house development, system integration, and business process change.
  • Team Empowerment: Inspire and develop a high-performing QA team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.

About you

  • Proven leadership experience in quality assurance or software testing, within asset management or financial services.
  • Deep understanding of automated testing methods, tools, and frameworks—within Microsoft DevOps, Git, and cloud-based environments (Azure, Snowflake, .NET, SQL).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels—from developers to fund managers and business leads.
  • A strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach to testing, risk, and delivery.
  • Passionate about coaching, mentoring, and building capability within teams.
