About The Role
We are seeking a world class Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to continue to propel our company and product on its fast-moving trajectory. The candidate would provide sound technical leadership in all aspects of our business. You will communicate with employees and stakeholders to ensure our company’s technologies are used appropriately. Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential in this role. We expect you to be well-versed in current technological trends, such as computer vision pose estimation models, LLMs and GenAI, and familiar with a variety of business concepts. If you are also an excellent communicator and public speaker, we’d like to meet you. Our small team consists of highly accomplished individuals, each having achieved prior exits. You will find this role to be highly fulfilling. What Is Involved
- Manage a small but highly capable engineering team of >5 engineers, including assessing OKRs and progress frameworks.
- Understand and oversee the technical intricacies of our existing codebase, fully understanding how it works.
- Work effectively as a crucial member of our small engineering team writing code to accelerate the ongoing mirror Flutter app build.
- Develop technical aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals
- Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage – particularly the launch of our subscription model.
- When necessary be ready to champion our technology to investors and the Board – including when under scrutiny.
- Report directly into the CEO on the progress of the product engineering and timelines.
- Help departments use technology profitably
- Supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency
- Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
- Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors
- Ensure smooth and regular release of new features, ensuring we continue to move at a rapid pace.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CTO or similar leadership role hiring/managing a growing engineering team, ensuring progression of team members and their clear OKRs/KPIs.
- Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy
- Understanding of budgets and business-planning
- Extensive experience in Flutter/Dart within a startup / high growth environment (Riverpod, Go Router).
- Experienced with AWS technologies (SAM, CloudFormation, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3 etc.)
- Ability to conduct technological analyses and research
- Outstanding communication abilities, particularly in effectively and clearly explaining technical concepts to non-technical individuals and in writing detailed project documentation.
- Meticulous and thorough in paying attention to details.
- Experience collaborating in Agile Scrum teams.
- Be a public, vocal face of the pioneering engineering and technology of our company which may include speaking at conferences, social media, events etc.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Able to work effectively and cooperatively in a team setting.
- You don't have to be a regular gym-goer, but you should be passionate about developing technology that will revolutionise how people exercise!

- Passion for fitness, ideally with experience building fitness products and working out.
- Although not essential, experience working with hardware, with a reasonable understanding around components such as CPUs and motherboards. We do not anticipate significant hardware changes in the future.
