Role
As our Employment and Skills Manager, you will lead the design and implementation of a new in-house employability service (‘Bromley Works’), working with local partners and Council services to deliver a range of employment support and skills training programs; including the government’s new Connect to Work supported employment programme. You will work closely with stakeholders, businesses, and training providers to create pathways that drive economic growth and improve workforce opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and delivery of Bromley’s new in-house employability service, ‘Bromley Works’, including the innovative Connect to Work (C2W) programme.
- Oversee a range of employment and skills initiatives, ensuring high-quality, inclusive service delivery aligned with local strategic priorities and national standards.
- Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team of employment professionals, driving performance and fostering continuous professional growth.
- Build and sustain strategic partnerships with employers, training providers, government bodies, and community stakeholders to unlock employment opportunities.
- Secure and manage programme funding, ensuring compliance, financial accountability, and the long-term sustainability of services.
The person
You will be a proactive and results-driven professional with a strong background in employment services and skills development. You will have:
- Experience of delivering or managing employment programmes aligned with the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) models.
- A proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary teams and driving high performance within employment and skills services.
- Strong skills in building strategic partnerships with employers, funders, community stakeholders, and public sector bodies to create inclusive employment pathways.
- Excellent programme management and financial oversight abilities, including securing funding and ensuring compliance with performance and quality standards.
- Knowledge of labour market trends, skills development strategies, and employability best practices, particularly for disadvantaged or underrepresented groups.
