The role
Ebury’s Smart Hub are looking for a creative, experienced and proactive PR professional with experience working on conversation starting books or entertainment brands to join our award-winning comms team as a publicist.
You will get to work with some of the most creative publishing colleagues in the business in a friendly and inclusive environment, joining at an exciting moment of growth and momentum for the UK’s largest dedicated non-fiction publisher.
Key responsibilities:
- To create and implement ambitious, strategic PR campaigns and events for authors and titles across an array of genres within non-fiction.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments as well as external stakeholders, including sales and marketing, editorial, rights, international colleagues, authors and agents.
- Maintain, develop and seek out new relationships with high-profile and influential stakeholders, such as media, bookshops and events partners
- To play an important role in the acquisition of new books, providing PR feedback in New Projects meetings and acquisition. Contributing to and attending pitches to acquire new talent and inputting into the overall Smart hub strategic priorities.
What you’ll bring
- A track record of producing standout publicity campaigns in a publishing or content-led environment.
- Be confident writing engaging press materials, organising events, and be a high-level networker with the media.
- Be well networked with media contacts and be knowledgeable and curious about making new contacts and understanding what turns the dial for different genres.
- Be highly organised with excellent prioritisation skills to juggle concurrent projects or campaigns with different lead times.
- Be able to think in innovative and creative ways to create buzz behind our books, always with your eye on the activity that truly drives book sales and strategy.

Circa £35,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will attend in person meetings in our Embassy Gardens office for a minimum 2 days a week (Tuesday and Thursday). Given the nature of the role, there will be times where you will be required to work outside of usual office hours, such as evenings and weekends. We’re happy to discuss this further through the recruitment process.
