About the role
As a Section Manager in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you\’ll manage a team of Partners responsible for direct-to-customer deliveries. You will ensure the smooth operation of the supply chain and uphold the high customer service standards expected of the John Lewis brand. Additionally, you\’ll ensure all operations comply with legal regulations and meet operational KPIs and SLAs aligned with Partner, customer, and business profit metrics.

Role Title: Customer Delivery Hub Section Manager
Positions Available: 4 (2 Permanent, 2 Fixed Term for 7 months)
Hours of Work: Full Time, 37.5 hours weekly, working Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday. Fixed shift hours are 06:00-14:00 (Permanent and one Fixed Term) and 14:00-22:00 (second Fixed Term).
Location: Origin Park CDH
Salary: £36,400 – £57,600 annually. This role attracts a potential shift premium of 22.5%, adding approximately £8,190 annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning operational resources daily and weekly with Partners and agency staff.
- Developing and maintaining effective communication with operational teams.
- Monitoring department KPIs for trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Managing driver requirements such as dart tags, fuel cards, and vehicle keys.
- Communicating daily with the transport planning team.
- Managing the transport office operations, including schedules and conference calls.
This role requires flexibility in working hours, including out-of-hours and key holder responsibilities, with accountability for site business continuity. The role also emphasizes responsible conduct in line with CSR commitments and waste management policies.
