Job Description
Join our Warehouse Team to assist with receiving, processing, and dispatching metals and plastics in various shapes and sizes, with occasional driving to deliver products to customers. Typical tasks include but are not limited to goods inspection, cutting, deburring, packing, picking, and delivery.
Key Skills and Daily Tasks:
- Ability to read and follow order instructions
- Valid driving license
- Computer literacy
- Unloading, inspecting, and booking materials into the Stockmaster system
- Ensuring proper storage of materials using the correct racking solutions
- Picking materials for saws or shipments
- Operating cutting equipment such as tube, bar, and plate saws
- Inspecting products for quality
- Packing products securely to prevent transit damage
- Managing scrap materials
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and follow all EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) procedures.
- Adhere to company rules, recommendations, and policies related to warehouse activities.
- Maintain a safe warehouse environment at all times, immediately reporting any hazards or unsafe activities. Complete necessary supporting documentation (e.g., end-of-day check sheets, pre-use machine checks, forklift check sheets).
- Ensure proper housekeeping within the warehouse.
- Apply Lean practices to improve efficiency.
- Use all safety equipment and PPE as per Health and Safety procedures and company guidelines.
- Utilize provided hardware and software, such as IT equipment, email, scanning tools, and ID cards, to perform job functions.
- Demonstrate a high standard of work practices and safety-conscious behavior to eliminate hazards for yourself and others.
- Maintain a high level of productivity as per the targets set by your Team Leader, Supervisors, and management.
- Meet and strive to exceed daily performance targets in your area.
- Focus on minimizing mistakes by adhering to quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members, Team Leaders, Supervisors, and management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Experience in warehousing and/or manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of working with metals such as Aluminium, Titanium, and Stainless Steel in various forms (tubes, bars, plates, sheets, coils, extrusions).
- Experience operating Sideloader and Counterbalance forklifts is required.
This is initially a 3 months contract but with the intention to become permanent for the right candidates.Hours:7.30am – 4pm (Monday to Friday) Pay:£12.21 – £13.00 per hour (Depending on experience)
