To organise and supervise the unit in accordance with the standards required by Compass Group UK & Ireland, the contract specification, and statutory regulations. Responsible for the overall efficient management of the unit, ensuring quality service. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and service to meet standards and specifications. Use resources efficiently, including stock, team members, and assets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic guidance and managing the business through your team
  • Communicating, motivating, and guiding your management team and catering staff daily
  • Taking responsibility for food and health & safety procedures in the college catering department
  • Promoting the unit and acting as a Compass Advocate
  • Managing internal and external stakeholders effectively
  • Ensuring client hospitality meets standards and seeking feedback
  • Identifying opportunities to improve and innovate the service
  • Managing budgets, monitoring trends, and implementing corrective actions
  • Delivering customer requirements to expectations
