As a Solutions Architect, you’ll play a critical role in supporting our sales team by translating customer needs into technical network solutions. You’ll partner with account executives during the sales process to assess client requirements, design effective solutions, and articulate the technical and business value of our products.
This is a customer-facing, consultative role requiring both technical acumen and strong communication skills. You will have a strong knowledge of traditional network technologies as well as experience with cloud and software network methodology as well. Your ability to bridge the gap between product capabilities and client goals will be key to winning deals and ensuring long-term customer success.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead in the sales cycle, collaborating closely with account executives to understand client needs/opportunities, objectives and challenges.
- Conduct discovery sessions with prospects to gather technical requirements, business goals, and constraints.
- Deliver tailored product demonstrations, technical presentations, and solution walkthroughs to stakeholders at all levels — from technical teams to executive leadership.
- Build trusted advisor relationships with prospects and clients, offering insights and recommendations that align with their long-term goals.
- Work with account executives in maintaining and cultivating relationships with customers to ensure account retention and growth.
- Lead Proof-of-Concept (POC) and pilot engagements, managing timelines, configurations, and success criteria to demonstrate real-world value.
- Translate business needs into scalable, secure, and high-performing architectures that leverage our products and services.
- Design end-to-end solutions, ensuring alignment with industry standards, best practices, and the customer’s existing technology stack.
- Create detailed solution proposals, architecture diagrams, technical scopes, and integration plans.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to recommend new features or custom configurations when needed to meet complex requirements.
Proposal, Documentation & Technical Writing
- Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires with clear, accurate, and persuasive technical content.
- Develop and maintain a library of reusable documentation, templates, and reference architectures.
- Provide written summaries of solution designs and technical justifications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Creation of bill of materials and pricing templates for bespoke customer requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a key liaison between Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Service and Customer Success teams.
- Provide regular feedback to Product and Engineering based on customer interactions and market trends.
- Partner with Customer Success and Onboarding teams to ensure smooth hand-offs and solution continuity post-sale.
- Collaborate with Cloud Gateway strategic suppliers and partner organisations for development of bespoke customer solutions.
- Stay current on our evolving product suite, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
- Contribute to internal sales enablement efforts by creating demo environments, use case collateral, and training materials.
- Mentor and help upskill the broader sales team on technical selling.
Minimum requirements of role
- 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Presales Consultant).
- Strong understanding of Core Networking Technologies and Architecture (Routing and Switching) from leading vendors including Cisco and Juniper (ideally in a service provider network environment)
- Strong understanding of Firewall and Security Technologies and Architecture from leading vendors including Palo Alto, Fortinet and CheckPoint
- Strong understanding of routing protocols, i.e. BGP and OSPF
- Familiarity of Cloud Architecture and Cloud Networking with Public Cloud Vendors, i.e. AWS, Azure and Google
- Proven experience delivering demos, presentations, and technical documentation.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
