Currently recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager (Survey) to join our growing client in Aberdeen. The role of Assistant Project Manager (Survey) will report into the Survey & Positioning Manger and will assist with the management of the complete lifecycle of projects, from award phase through planning, execution, monitoring, completion and close-out.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
Essential:
- Experience in offshore survey, positioning and construction operations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Project, and Visio.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Preferred:
- Degree-qualified (MSc/BSc/BEng) in a relevant discipline or holds a recognised project management qualification. Significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
Familiarity with project costing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Support the full lifecycle management of projects from award through planning, execution, monitoring, close-out, and post-project evaluation.
Assist in the preparation and completion of project risk assessments prior to mobilisation.
Facilitate the handover of bid-phase documentation to project teams, ensuring technical specifications, contract requirements, and commercial terms are understood and applied.
Support the monitoring of project execution, identifying and documenting contractual variations, and ensuring timely action is taken.
Participate in quality control processes to ensure final project deliverables meet client expectations.
Advise Operations Management on project-specific personnel requirements.
Assist in the sourcing and coordination of project equipment from internal and external providers.
Support client communications during project execution and contribute to the tracking of key performance indicators.
Proactively identify and help mitigate technical, commercial, and QHSE risks associated with assigned projects.
Manage specific project tasks and administrative duties as required.
Attend site visits and client meetings to support project planning and delivery.
Ensure compliance with internal procedures and quality standards by using appropriate QMS documentation and liaising with the Document Controller for updates.
Provide technical input to tenders and bids as necessary.
Help promote the company\’s services during routine client interactions and industry engagements.
Monitor project costs (both internal and third-party) in line with forecasted revenues, and assist in compiling weekly and monthly cost/revenue tracking reports.
Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial tracking and reporting.
Regularly review project expenditure in line with reporting timelines to support Finance Department needs.
Provide out-of-hours or on-call support when required to meet project or client demands.
Support the identification and mitigation of risks in line with current legislation, seeking internal advice where necessary to ensure compliance and safety.
Promote and ensure adherence to relevant legislation and industry standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) management systems, actively contributing to their effectiveness and continuous improvement.
Promptly report any accidents, incidents, near-misses, or potential issues affecting products, services, or systems in accordance with established company procedures.
Encourage environmental responsibility by identifying and eliminating waste, promoting the use of environmentally sustainable materials and practices, and supporting ongoing environmental improvement initiatives.
