Job Title: Product Owner – Onboarding Experience

Location: Nottingham, Hybrid

Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and customer-obsessed Product Owner – Onboarding Experience to lead the vision, strategy, and delivery of seamless user onboarding journeys across our digital platform. This role will work cross-functionally with UX, engineering, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure users achieve "first value" quickly and stay engaged.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Ownership:

Own the end-to-end onboarding experience for new users across web and mobile applications, including setup flows, guided tours, help wizards, and contextual tips.

Requirement Gathering:

Collaborate with stakeholders, users, and internal teams to collect requirements and translate them into well-defined product features and user stories.

Customer Journey Design:

Map user onboarding journeys, identify friction points, and create solutions that reduce drop-off and improve activation and adoption rates.

Backlog Management:

Define and maintain a prioritized product backlog focused on onboarding enhancements and integrations with CRM, support, and analytics systems.

Agile Delivery:

Work closely with Scrum teams to deliver features iteratively. Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and user story refinement sessions.

Data-Driven Decisions:

Use data analytics, user feedback, and A/B testing to validate onboarding features and continuously improve onboarding KPIs (e.g., time to first value, activation rate).

Stakeholder Communication:

Act as the bridge between tech teams and business stakeholders. Provide regular updates and ensure alignment with business goals.

Required Skills & Experience:

3–6 years of experience in a Product Owner or Product Manager role, preferably in a SaaS or digital product environment.

Proven experience designing or optimizing user onboarding experiences.

Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).

Strong analytical skills with experience in product analytics tools like Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Google Analytics.

UX/UI sensibility and experience collaborating with design teams.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field (MBA is a plus).
