We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Category Supply Chain Manager to lead and manage the end-to-end supply chain planning for a defined category within our multi-channel retail operation. This role is accountable for ensuring optimal stock availability, executing seasonal and promotional strategies, and driving continuous improvement in supply chain performance. You will also be responsible for managing a team of Trade Counter and Distribution Centre (DC) Planners, ensuring consistent planning execution, performance management, and team development.

Key responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the supply chain category plan
- Accountable for maintaining category availability across a multi-channel retail operation
- Line management for a team of DC, TC and ORE Planners, setting objectives, managing performance, supporting development and ensuring a consistent approach
- Implement core range change, seasonal and promotional campaigns effectively, using detailed forecast analysis and strong commercial judgement
- Forecast the physical requirement of stock based on the sales forecast including promotional or seasonal purchases and store requirements
- Manage the promotional lifecycle of ranges, ensuring stocks of existing/previous promotions are cleared before enabling the market team to commit to new purchases
- Work with the market and store operation teams to propose and drive efficiencies in ranging to improve customer service
- Own category stock health, reviewing and optimising budgets, minimising stock provision and increasing stock turn
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers, maintaining strong, collaborative relationships to deliver success
- Management of strategic vendors in conjunction with supply and market teams
- Take an active role in project and development opportunities
- Deputise for Senior Supply Chain Manager where required
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in financial modelling, developing commercial plans and managing stock exit plans
- Proven track record of high performance through delivering results and achieving targets
- Experience managing stock turn and implementing inventory strategies
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Forecasting experience for promotions and product life cycle management
- Experience working in a fast-paced and high-pressured environment
- Merchandising experience within a major retailer and trading a range through a WSSI
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and present to Senior Managers
- Experience of team management
- Excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and numerically competent
