Location of Role
This is a remote role. Candidates will be expected to travel within the M62 Corridor & surrounding areas (North West – East Yorkshire). Monthly head office visits are required (Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S70).
Purpose of Role: The Skills Coach is responsible for teaching, coaching, and supporting the development of learners on apprenticeship programmes. The role involves delivering apprenticeship standards, knowledge, skills, and behaviors throughout the learner journey using a quality process. The coach will teach, support, and deliver effective training in work-based settings via a blended learning approach, conducting regular visits to ensure learner progression and achievement.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver and facilitate teaching and learning aligned with the agreed learning journey, resulting in learners applying new knowledge, skills, and behaviors in their workplace.
- Support and deliver English, Maths, and ICT functional skills at level 2 throughout the learner\’s journey.
- Complete the required visits and reviews for each apprentice, meeting all quality and funding requirements.
- Engage with learners\’ line managers to provide support and guidance.
- Coach learners to gather evidence during training sessions to ensure progression and milestone achievement.
- Monitor and review learner welfare regularly, taking action to reduce early leavers and maintain caseload levels.
- Conduct enrichment activities related to prevent, safeguarding, and British values.
- Manage and complete administrative duties within deadlines.
- Keep knowledge of standards and frameworks updated through self-development and standardisation events.
- Research industry trends and market developments regularly.
- Evaluate and adapt training delivery based on feedback and audits.
- Monitor health and safety and manage learner accidents in workplaces.
- Provide effective IAG services to internal and external clients.
- Promote Total-TP opportunities with funding bodies, learners, and external bodies.
- Perform any other duties as requested by management.
Essential Criteria:
- Deliver up to Level 7.
- Level 3 Relevant Occupational Qualification or equivalent.
- D32/33/TAQA Level 3 Assessors Award or equivalent.
- Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths & English or equivalent.
- Experience in delivering apprenticeship training and support in a work-based environment.
- Proven experience in assessing learners on apprenticeship frameworks, standards, and EPA requirements.
- Knowledge of government-funded training.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
- Strong IT skills, including using electronic portfolio systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as part of a remote team.
- Ability to motivate and support learners.
Desirable or to be undertaken as part of role:
- Teacher/training qualifications (PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS).
- D34 or V1 Award.
Other requirements:
- Flexibility to work hours and locations as needed.
- Full driving license and access to a car.
