Coverage: Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, New Energies and Renewables

Overview

We offer an exciting opportunity to join the London-based Investment Arm of a European Energy Trading house.

As an Investment Associate, you will report directly to the Head of Investment and will be integral to the investment appraisal process across a broad range of diverse business streams by analysing and assessing proposals submitted by global origination teams. You will handle transactions involving asset acquisition across petrochemicals, oil, gas, renewables, energy transition, and LPG sectors.

This role requires dedication, with a commitment to working five days in the office and a the ability to work autonomously when required.

Your Role

  • Modelling Investment Proposals: Build and utilise models to develop perspectives, identify signposts & risks, analyse results, and conduct sensitivities to evaluate a broad range of investment opportunities.
  • Financial Model Development: Produce and develop cash flow-based financial models.
  • Transaction Project Management: Manage transactions and coordinate due diligence work streams.
  • Effective Communication: Capable of communicating results and commentary from financial modelling.

Your Background

  • Proven experience in financial modelling and valuation techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a growth environment.
  • Experience in transactions involving asset acquisition.
  • Understanding of the oil, gas, renewable, and energy transition sectors.
  • An appreciation of ESG, Carbon Offsets, and Sustainable Energy.
