Job Description The Senior Indirect Tax Manager plays an important role, combining strategic advisory support with hands-on leadership of VAT compliance activities. The role ensures the business meets all indirect tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions while proactively identifying risks, legislative changes, and opportunities for improvement. Working closely with the Head of Indirect Tax & Customs, the wider Tax team, and cross-functional partners, the Senior Indirect Tax Manager will guide the business through complex indirect tax matters, lead tax authority interactions, and drive enhancements to processes, controls, and automation.
Responsibilities Identify, monitor, and assess global indirect tax developments and their implications for ASOS.
Advise on indirect tax aspects of new business initiatives, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.
Act as a key point of contact for HMRC and other tax authorities, managing audits and enquiries.
Deliver VAT training to finance and business teams.
Support strategic direction for the indirect tax function alongside the Head of Indirect Tax & Customs.
Own end-to-end VAT compliance processes, including timely and accurate reporting and payments.
Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure robust governance and controls.
Oversee interactions with outsourced compliance providers and internal finance teams.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.

Qualifications About You
Professional tax qualification (ATT, CTA, ACCA, ACA preferred).
Significant experience in indirect tax advisory and compliance, ideally within retail/e-commerce.
Proven ability to manage tax authority audits and enquiries.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Commercially astute with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Experience with process improvement and automation projects is desirable.
