Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Project Manager to join our team. This role requires a strong background in Network Engineering, with proven expertise in managing complex projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role also involves managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.
The position is a site-based Network Project Manager role in one of the DXC reginal delivery centres in either Glasgow or Newcastle. Expectation is the successful candidate will cover project management delivery on complex technical network projects.
Suitable candidates must have or be able to achieve SC clearance
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, coordination, and control of projects to achieve specified objectives, ensuring projects are functionally and financially viable.
- Scope and Schedule Management: Define and manage project scope, and develop detailed project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
- Budget Management: Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring that financial objectives are met, and resources are allocated efficiently.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet the required quality standards and align with client expectations.
- Safety Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
- Change Management: Manage and document changes in project scope, schedule, and costs, communicating adjustments to stakeholders as necessary.
- Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and deliver project status reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with project goals.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project teams to ensure effective resource allocation and resolve any issues that arise during project execution.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor\’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Relevant work experience in the IT infrastructure industry, with experience in a technical project management role. Experience in leading and delivering complex, high-value projects within time, financial and qualitative parameters.
- Customer focus: Experience in client relationship management
- Skills: Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA), and software.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 are highly desirable.
- Clearance: Must hold or be eligible to apply for Security Clearance (SC). Applicants must be a British Citizen with no dual citizenship have spent a minimum of 5 years residency in the UK and have not spent longer than 6 months outside of the UK during this period.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree: An advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
