The Senior Manager, Sales is a dual-role leadership position within Diligent’s specialist sales team. This player/coach will be responsible both for developing and executing our go-to-market (GTM) strategy in the high-potential Ethics & Compliance Business Unit and acting as a hands-on sales expert who leads by example. The individual will directly close business within the E&C domain while enabling, coaching, and scaling a growing team of specialists.
We are looking for a proactive self-starter with a proven track record in the compliance, GRC, or SaaS domains—someone who can architect and drive sales plays, build team GTM maturity from the ground up, and act as a subject matter voice both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and refine a market strategy for Ethics & Compliance, leveraging insight into product-market fit, emerging trends, and regulatory drivers in the space.
- Identify key market opportunities and design scalable sales plays.
- Coordinate with Product, Marketing, and Enablement teams to ensure assets, messaging, and campaigns align with market needs.
- Directly manage a subset of high-value opportunities and strategic accounts within the Ethics & Compliance portfolio.
- Serve as a coach and mentor to specialist colleagues, supporting ongoing enablement, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of E&C sales plays.
- Oversee day-to-day sales process execution and act as SME speaker at internal and external events.
- Represent Diligent as a subject matter expert in compliance and ethics through industry forums, customer events, and webinars.
- Maintain awareness of trends across anti-bribery, third-party risk, policy management, and related compliance topics.
- Partner with all GTM functions—including Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success—to drive cohesive execution in the Ethics & Compliance segment.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven success in compliance, ethics, GRC, or SaaS solution selling, ideally with experience in a specialist or player/coach capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to build and implement impactful GTM strategies, especially in new or maturing business units.
- Strong track record of direct sales results in the compliance domain, exceeding quotas and opening new markets.
- Experience coaching and enabling peers or teams towards consistent, scalable sales execution.
- Deep familiarity with the corporate compliance landscape, including key buyer personas (e.g., Chief Compliance Officer, General Counsel) and regulatory challenges.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset willing to roll up sleeves and drive tangible outcomes.
- Strategic and analytical, able to assess market maturity, identify opportunities, and operationalise sales motions.
- Proactive in exploring digital tools and willing to upskill in AI-powered systems.
- Collaborate on team initiatives that involve experimenting with new technology, including AI.
