We are now looking for a Head of PR & Events for a maternity cover fixed-term contract of 12 months to join ourMarketing Leadership Team based in Weybridge, UK.
Position Overview
As Head of PR & Events and a key member of the Marketing Leadership Team, you\’ll be responsible for maximising positive coverage of the Celebrity Cruises brand across Europe, Middle East, and Africa. This high-profile role involves managing media relations, shaping brand messaging, and leading strategic PR and events initiatives to raise awareness among new and existing audiences, including affluent holidaymakers and cruise newcomers. You\’ll also contribute thought leadership for senior executives and oversee a comprehensive events strategy, from ship launches to consumer activations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a global-aligned PR strategy focused on enhancing media exposure, brand growth, and engagement with both consumer and trade audiences, supporting long-term brand and segment growth.
- Lead the planning and execution of integrated PR campaigns, media relations, influencer engagement, ship launches, and high-profile events, ensuring alignment with brand and business objectives.
- Manage and grow relationships with media outlets, industry organisations (e.g., CLIA, ABTA), influencers, and internal stakeholders, including senior leadership like the Vice President & Managing Director.
- Oversee global ship launches and major events, including consumer activations, cruise shows, FAM trips, and onboard events, ensuring all activity supports broader business goals.
- Drive thought leadership initiatives for organisational leaders, including keynote speeches, industry panels, and external speaking engagements.
- Manage PR agencies across UK&I, Germany, and Scandinavia, ensuring delivery of impactful campaigns, media engagement, and measuring KPIs such as media coverage and brand awareness.
- Own the influencer and broadcast PR strategies in EMEA, focusing on UK & Ireland, and ensure timely media engagement for news and major announcements.
- Effectively manage PR and Events budgets, providing monthly reports and quarterly forecasts to maximise ROI and resource allocation.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of three PR and Events professionals through mentoring, objective-setting, and performance appraisals, fostering a high-performance culture.
Skills & Experience
- Extensive PR management experience, ideally within the travel or customer service sector, with strong digital channel expertise.
- Proven success in designing and executing integrated PR campaigns that deliver measurable impact.
- Experience managing agency relationships across multiple countries, with a track record in event planning and live activations.
- Excellent written communication skills, creative mindset, and attention to detail.
- Strong relationship-building abilities, with confidence to engage senior management and external stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, multi-national environments and adapt to emerging media and consumer trends.
- Digital savvy with a good understanding of social media and online channels.
Qualifications
- Degree-level education.
- Extensive experience in PR leadership, preferably within the travel industry.
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder networks and deliver impactful campaigns.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally and work outside regular hours as needed.
