We have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Data Architect to join our team in Scotland (Aberdeen, Glasgow or Perth). The successful candidate will inform the technical architecture, roadmap and design of Microsoft Fabric and related data centric platforms / solutions.

What you’ll do

  • Report to the Data & Analytics (D&A) Data Engineering Manager to agree priorities and day to day activities
  • Inform the technical architecture, roadmap and scalable solution design for new and enhanced data centric solutions on Microsoft Fabric and other platforms, including: OneLake, Lakehouses, Data Warehousing and Dataflows & PipelinesMetadata and data lineage management Data governance and master data management (MDM) Integration with on-premise, cloud, and third-party data sources
  • Collaborate with the Lead Data Architect and the Data Architecture Team to align technical designs with the data architecture standards & models
  • Collaborate with IT Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to align technical designs with the enterprise architecture principles and security practices
  • Participate in business facing workshops to provide technical expertise to inform use case feasibility
  • Support the D&A Product Manager to prioritise the backlog in ADO (using the established demand prioritisation criteria)

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with business and technical audiences
  • Demonstrable experience in large scale Data Architecting roles
  • Practical experience using agile methodologies
  • Proficient understanding of fundamental Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications would be a preferred, but not essential
