Interim SEN Data Officer

Based in North London, hybrid working

Length: 3-Months (Potential for extension)

We are working with a London local authority to recruit a SEN Data Officer to support performance management and strategic planning across Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services. This is a vital analytical role responsible for delivering accurate, insightful data that supports statutory returns, budget planning, and the development of a live Local Area SEND Dashboard.

Key Responsibilities of the Interim SEN Data Officer:

  • Lead on the collection, analysis, and presentation of SEND performance data across education, health, and social care
  • Develop and maintain a live SEND Local Area dashboard (preferably in Power BI) to support strategic decision-making
  • Oversee data management and quality within the case management system (e.g. Synergy or Liquid Logic)
  • Produce statutory returns including the SEN2 return , and respond to regional/national data requests
  • Provide insight and reporting to governance groups such as the SEND Partnership Board and Pre-SEND Board
  • Lead on data benchmarking against national and statistical neighbours to inform service improvements
  • Coordinate the delivery of monthly monitoring reports and ensure forecasts are robust and well-evidenced
  • Lead and support service grant claims, government returns, and preparation of working papers for year-end accounts
  • Contribute to transformation projects and service improvement initiatives as part of the finance division\’s strategic goals

Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Interim SEN Data Officer:

  • Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring in a public sector setting
  • Strong understanding of SEND services, EHCP processes, and local authority responsibilities
  • Advanced Excel and/or Power BI skills; ability to create dashboards and manipulate large datasets
  • Experience producing statutory data submissions such as SEN2 and working with DfE returns platforms
