Job Description
At Entain, we\’re changing the game in sports betting and interactive entertainment, and we\’re doing it with people-first thinking, bold ideas, and smart innovation to power our fantastic portfolio of UK&I brands, including Ladbrokes, Coral, Gala, Foxy and Party. As part of that story, our Consumer and Market Insight (CMI) team is helping to reinvent how we understand and serve consumers and customers to drive meaningful acquisition and retention.
We\’re looking for a Head of Market & Competitor Insight for a 6-9 month maternity cover.
You\’ll be part of the Consumer & Market Insight (CMI) leadership team, reporting into the Consumer & Market Insight Director and working alongside the Head of Consumer Insight and Head of Brand Insight. You\’ll play a pivotal role in driving UK&I\’s success by leveraging research, data, and analytics to gain deep insights into market and competitor trends, and how these will impact future consumer behaviours and preferences.
You\’ll be working closely with and influencing some of the most senior stakeholders at Entain, synthesising insight from multiple sources to create and align on a single version of the truth. You\’ll set high performance standards for your team, ensuring we are always improving how we work and what we deliver.
Key Responsibilities
Market Insight
- Monitor UK&I macroeconomic trends, industry developments, and market activities to predict changes in consumer behaviour.
- Lead and own market forecast/share models and insight (macroeconomics, industry, technology, regulatory trends etc.) across all UK&I product verticals and brands.
- Deliver in-depth narratives of the drivers and inhibitors of market performance to influence commercial, marketing, and product strategies to drive volume and value growth.
Competitor Insight
- Lead and own competitor insight (strategy, financial performance, propositions, regulatory implementation, M&A etc.) across all UK&I product verticals and brands.
- Use competitor insight to influence commercial, marketing, and product strategies to drive volume and value growth.
Insight Sources Management
- Build and own relationships with key industry analyst partners.
- Manage insight sources and subscriptions to maximise value and cost efficiency vs. budget.
- Explore innovative insight and data sources to further enhance our understanding of the market, competitors, and consumers.
Team Leadership
- Lead a high-performing Market & Competitor Insight team, providing guidance, coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities whilst embracing change.
- Foster a consumer-centric and insight-driven culture within the organization.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelor\’s degree in Business, Finance, STEM, or a related field. Master\’s degree preferred.
- Proven leadership experience in a client-side Consumer & Market Insight or Strategy function at a multinational FTSE (or equivalent) organisation with omnichannel revenue streams.
- Technical expertise of market research methodologies e.g. qualitative and quantitative research, and the use of them in strategic and commercial projects.
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in visualisation and data analysis techniques and tools, e.g. Excel, Power BI etc.
- Excellent storytelling, data visualisation, and PowerPoint skills with the ability to create succinct and impactful narratives that drive action.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence and convey complex insights in a clear and actionable manner to C-suite executives.
Desired :
- Proven experience in a similar role within the gambling industry, or with top international consulting/analyst firms (Big Four, Gartner, IDC, GlobalData etc.).
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements of the UK&I gambling industry.
Additional Information
Hybrid working is in our DNA, so you\’ll be based in our recently refurbished One Stratford Place office in London where you\’ll spend at least 2 days per week with the team. We\’re an international organisation, so some overseas travel may be required.
