Gordon Murray Automotive Limited currently has an exciting opportunity for Logistics Engineer to join our team based at the Gordon Murray Automotive Head Quarters in Windlesham, Surrey.
As a Logistics Engineer at GMA, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials, components, and finished vehicles across the production lifecycle. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising logistics systems and processes that support low-volume, high-precision automotive manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, map, and implement logistics processes for inbound, outbound, and internal material flows.
- Define and optimise lineside delivery strategies.
- Evaluate and refine packaging solutions to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and damage prevention.
- Analyse production schedules and BOMs to ensure accurate material flow planning.
- Work with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to create lean and just-in-time logistics solutions.
- Ensure supply chain compliance with internal logistics standards and external accreditations as required.
- Lead logistics input for new vehicle projects and model introductions, ensuring readiness from prototype to series production.
- Support vehicle launch planning by preparing logistics feasibility studies and risk mitigation strategies.
- Working with the teams to ensure warehouse designs enable a clear flow of materials from goods inwards to lineside.
- Support ergonomic and efficient workstation setup and lineside presentation of materials, the output of which is a plan for every part.
- Use lean tools (e.g., VSM, 5S, Kaizen) to improve operational efficiency.
- Analyse logistics performance data and implement corrective actions where required.
- Support the accuracy of stock levels, goods receipt, and dispatch processes. Support the implementation of stock control systems and cycle counting.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Degree in Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in a logistics or material flow engineering role within an automotive or high-performance manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of lean logistics principles and material flow planning.
- Experience in designing and implementing packaging and handling solutions.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with production, purchasing, and suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards, especially in low-volume or niche vehicle production, is desirable
- Full UK driving licence.
