We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Bid Manager in our North West Construction region.
Location: North West β Salford / Speke
Hours: 40 hours p/w β opportunity to discuss flexibility

What will you be responsible for?
Kier Construction is a tier 1 contractor delivering valuable projects across communities. Tenders may range in value between Β£10M β Β£100M+ and will cut across DfE, Local Authority, MOD, MOJ, Higher Education, Life Sciences and Commercial space. The Senior Bid Manager fulfils a key role in Kier Construction, working closely with the wider SMT and SLT to influence successful tendering of construction projects within both public sector space.
The Senior Bid Manager will formulate and execute bidding strategy through early visibility of opportunities. Working closely with senior stakeholders and business development managers, the Senior Bid Manager will take a key role in the conversion of tenders to preferred bidder status.
Your Day To Day Will Include
- Take up early involvement opportunities with clients to fully understand needs, identify opportunities and tailor bid strategy.
- Assist in the assembly of bid teams, identifying key knowledge and expertise relevant to specific bids.
- Arrange and chair Bid Meetings with relevant stakeholders ensuring accurate and effective communication across stakeholders to set strategy, timescales and input obligations.
- Drive engagement and collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure timely receipt of technical information pertaining to bids.
- Interrogate information received from internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment with the Bid strategy, guide, review and edit bid writing output to ensure that returns are in line with the bid vision.
- Attend feedback sessions with the client and coordinate tender queries and amendments, presenting comfortably to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to facilitate further learning about MMC methodology, industry and technological advancements to ensure Kier are at the vanguard of modern delivery.
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Bid Manager is great for you if you:
- Hold degree level or equivalent qualification within a relevant discipline (Project Management, Construction Management, Design or Commercial management)
- Previous experience of managing bid services within a tier 1 construction environment.
- Strong construction market knowledge gained within a role within large construction contractors.
- Expert understanding of the principles of framework procurement and experience within the most current forms of procurement is required.
