Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the NIT SCM Forecasting team as Specialist on an 18-month fixed-term contract. 

As an NIT Specialist you will be responsible for providing technical support for a range of business-critical forecasting applications and services used by colleagues from the operational side of the business.  These applications and services are utilised by teams from within Store Operations, National Supply Chain and regional Trading and Warehouse teams.

As well as daily business as usual technical support, you will be required to collaborate with relevant business stakeholders to assist with requirements gathering, low-level SQL development, testing and documentation of ad hoc and quarterly application releases.

There will also be the requirement to provide ad-hoc support for processes associated with Forecasting and Replenishment SAP systems.

Your New Role:

  • Provide 2nd level support to both regional and centralised users from the operational business
  • Be responsible for investigating, prioritising and resolving issues based upon business impact and urgency
  • Gathering requirements, low-level SQL development, testing and documentation of ad hoc and quarterly application releases
  • Provide data analysis where necessary to support incident investigation and resolution
  • Liaise with and escalate to other National IT teams and International IT (IIT) departments, as well as wider business teams, as required, to ensure timely resolution of reported issues
  • Prepare appropriate communication and documentation such as stakeholder updates, version release notes and technical support documents

About You:

  • IT background (e.g. working in development environment, IT support, data analytics)
  • Strong experience with MS SQL scripting
  • Advanced MS Excel experience
  • Data modelling and Data Validation experience
  • Experience of interpreting business requirements into technical solutions
  • The ability to interact with the operational business and other departments, translating technical concepts and problems into business language
  • The ability to apply themselves technically
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with a solution-oriented mindset
  • An enthusiasm for technology, whilst being customer and business focused
  • Logical and efficient work ethics, with a keen attention to detail
  • An ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively
  • An ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks whilst under pressure
