We are recruiting for our client based in the UK for a Supplier Quality Engineer, however there will be a lot of travel to mainland Europe as well as working from home.
We are looking for someone to assist in the selection, development, management, and assurance of defect-free performance of the Distribution Business\’ supplier base with the objective of overall quality improvement. You will also need to resolves supplier quality issues.
The Key Responsibilities of the role will be as follows:
* Participate in supplier evaluation, selection, and strategic sourcing process development.
* Assist in the supplier corrective action process including containment, root cause investigation, and corrective action.
* Ensure suppliers use quality tools effectively.
* Work with supplier to ensure all product requirements are met.
* Review the supplier quality resources for new product introduction and current products to reduce supplier related issues, improve process capabilities, and ensure timely project launches.
* Be responsible for determining if all requirements are met by the supplier for new or changed products.
* Measures supplier quality performance according to established procedures; drives appropriate improvements to meet established targets.
* Facilitate continuous improvement activities to reduce defects.
You must have the following skills and experience:
Understand PPAP (Product Parts Approval Process) approval process.
AIAG exposure (Automotive Industry Action Group).
Supplier Quality Core Tools experience.
Strong APQP skills.
Supplier maintenance experience.
Exceptional communication skills.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills.
This is a 12 month temporary role starting in August, there is a possibility this could be extended for a further 12 months. You must have a valid passport or visa allowing you to travel to and from mainland Europe.
