Job Description
Macdonald & Company are delighted to have been retained to secure a Retail Estate Manager to join a well-known, well regarded name in the UK retail market.
The role is to support the wider property team in managing the (predominantly) retail property estate. This post focuses on enhancing profitability, minimizing liabilities, and maximizing revenue & value, through strategic estate management.
- Key Responsibilities:Work with the property team to implement strategies that enhance trading profits, improve asset management and control costs.
- Identify new trading opportunities, relocations, and lease regears to improve the retail environment.
- Manage lease renewals and rent reviews for the allocated portfolio, ensuring market-level settlements and accurate budgeting of occupancy costs.
- Oversee landlord-tenant relationships, consents, repairs notices, and service charge challenges.
- Dispose of surplus properties, maximizing value and capital returns, while reducing contingent liabilities through cost-effective solutions (sub-lettings, assignments, etc.).
- Manage external property service providers to ensure budgets and timelines are met.
- Ensure accurate recording of property data and timely payment of occupancy costs.
- What You’ll Need:Experience in retail estates management, (retail experience essential!), including lease renewals and asset management.
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- MRICS qualification or equivalent preferred.
Location:
This role is predominantly home / remote based and is to help cover a National portfolio. However, professionals living in the North West or wider Midlands region would be favoured. Accordingly, interested parties must be proficient in working autonomously and independently.
