At Cleo, we\’re not just building another fintech app. We\’re embarking on a mission to fundamentally change humanity\’s relationship with money. Imagine a world where everyone, regardless of background or income, has access to a hyper-intelligent financial advisor in their pocket. That\’s the future we\’re creating.
Cleo is a rare success story: a profitable, fast-growing unicorn with over $200 million in ARR and growing over 2x year-over-year. This isn\’t just a job; it\’s a chance to join a team of brilliant, driven individuals who are passionate about making a real difference. We have an exceptionally high bar for talent, seeking individuals who are not only at the top of their field but also embody our culture of collaboration and positive impact.
If you’re driven by complex challenges that push your expertise, the chance to shape something truly transformative, and the potential to share in Cleo’s success as we scale, while growing alongside a company that’s scaling fast, this might be your perfect fit.
To ensure our growth remains healthy, efficient, and long-term, we’re investing in the one area that has the power to transform our CAC and unlock real scale: performance marketing creative. Since forming our in-house creative studio, we’ve seen a gap emerge: we no longer have dedicated creative firepower focused on performance, and to help fix it, we’re building performance creative from the ground up.
This role is the first step: a Growth Creative Strategist who lives at the intersection of creative and performance. You’ll sit on the Growth Marketing team but collaborate as close with that team as the Creative Studio, bringing insights, structure, and creative direction to the work that fuels our most critical user acquisition channels.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and lead creative strategies for paid acquisition channels (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, influencers, connected TV etc.) that drive CPA down and LTV up.
- Act as a creative brief-writer, tester, and performance-informed editor, partnering with creatives to get to better concepts faster.
- Translate product, audience and market insights into high-leverage creative ideas.
- Build a feedback loop between creative and performance data – making testing feel strategic and not just tactical.
- Own the performance creative roadmap: what are we testing, why, and what are we learning?
- Work closely with channel owners, PMMs, and creatives to ensure messaging and visuals are aligned with Cleo’s brand but optimized for conversion.
- Push for bold ideas, not just safe ones. Champion creative that breaks category norms and earns attention.
About you:
- You have a strong understanding of both creative and performance: you can speak fluently with designers and copywriters, but you also know what CTR, CVR, Hook and Thumb Stop Ratio mean – why they matter and how to influence them.
- You’ve worked in or closely with a growth marketing team before, ideally in a B2C or consumer tech environment.
- You’re insight-led. Whether from data, research, or instinct, your ideas are rooted in understanding people.
- You love creative testing. You’re motivated by hypotheses, not just opinions.
- You’re energised by structure: building a testing calendar, mapping performance by asset, running creative retros, and helping the team move faster.
- You care about brand, but you’re not precious. You know how to bend the rules to hit the goal.
Nice to have:
- Experience in consumer apps or mission-driven B2C companies.
- Experience working within a creative agency or in-house studio.
- Strong instincts for TikTok, YouTube, Meta creative trends, and what’s next.
What do you get for all your hard work?
- A chance to define a new function in one of the most important growth levers at the company.
- Autonomy, influence, and cross-functional collaboration at the heart of growth and brand.
- A competitive compensation package (base + equity) with bi-annual reviews, aligned to our quarterly OKR planning cycles . You can view our public progression framework and salary bandings here:
- Work at one of the fastest-growing tech startups, backed by top VC firms, Balderton & EQT Ventures
- A clear progression plan. We want you to keep growing. That means trying new things, leading others, challenging the status quo and owning your impact. Always with our complete support.
- Flexibility . We can’t fight for the world’s financial health if we’re not healthy ourselves. We work with everyone to make sure they have the balance they need to do their best work
- Work where you work best. We’re a globally distributed team. If you live in London we have a hybrid approach, we’d love you to spend at least one day a week or more in our beautiful office.
- Other benefits;
- Company-wide performance reviews every 6 months
- Generous pay increases for high-performing team members
- Equity top-ups for team members getting promoted
- 25 days annual leave a year + public holidays (+ an additional day for every year you spend at Cleo, up to 30 days)
- 6% employer-matched pension in the UK
- Private Medical Insurance via Vitality, dental cover, and life assurance
- Enhanced parental leave
- 1 month paid sabbatical after 4 years at Cleo
- Regular socials and activities, online and in-person
- We\’ll pay for your OpenAI subscription
- Online mental health support via Spill
- Workplace Nursery Scheme
- And many more!
We strongly encourage applications from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
If there’s anything we can do to accommodate your specific situation, please let us know.
